Char Dham Yatra: registration, official sites and rules

- Registration is compulsory for every pilgrim, with Aadhaar and a photo ID. Register before you travel (website, "Tourist Care Uttarakhand" app or WhatsApp).
- Season: about late April to October/November. Kedarnath and Yamunotri close on Bhai Dooj, Gangotri the day after Diwali (around 10–11 Nov in 2026); Badrinath closes later on a date announced at Dussehra. Opening dates for 2027 are announced on Basant Panchami and Mahashivratri.
- Kedarnath helicopter tickets are sold ONLY on heliyatra.irctc.co.in and need your yatra registration. Look-alike sites (for example with "-irctc" in the name) are fake.
- Mobile phones and cameras are not allowed inside the temple premises; keep them in the deposit counters.
- High altitude: rest a day on the way up, drink water, avoid alcohol and sleeping pills.
- Government warning: fake helicopter, hotel and taxi booking sites appear in search ads and Facebook pages. Book only on official sites; report fraud on 1930.

चार धाम यात्रा: ज़रूरी जानकारी
- हर तीर्थयात्री का रजिस्ट्रेशन ज़रूरी है (आधार और फ़ोटो ID)। यात्रा से पहले वेबसाइट, "Tourist Care Uttarakhand" ऐप या WhatsApp से रजिस्टर करें।
- मौसम: लगभग अप्रैल के आख़िर से अक्टूबर/नवंबर। केदारनाथ और यमुनोत्री भाई दूज पर, गंगोत्री दीवाली के अगले दिन बंद होते हैं (2026 में लगभग 10–11 नवंबर); बद्रीनाथ बाद में, दशहरे पर घोषित तारीख़ को।
- केदारनाथ हेलीकॉप्टर टिकट सिर्फ़ heliyatra.irctc.co.in पर मिलते हैं और यात्रा रजिस्ट्रेशन ज़रूरी है। मिलती-जुलती साइटें नकली हैं।
- मंदिर परिसर में मोबाइल और कैमरा मना है; डिपॉज़िट काउंटर पर रखें।
- ऊँचाई: रास्ते में एक दिन आराम करें, पानी पिएँ, शराब और नींद की गोलियों से बचें।
- सरकारी चेतावनी: नकली हेलीकॉप्टर, होटल और टैक्सी बुकिंग साइटें विज्ञापनों और फ़ेसबुक पर दिखती हैं। सिर्फ़ आधिकारिक साइट पर बुक करें; धोखा हो तो 1930 पर कॉल करें।
